Dr. Flavol Rester
Flavol Rester started his educator career of 45+ years as a pre-school special education teacher at Beulah Williams Elementary School in Silver Creek, Mississippi, in the fall of 1980. During the summer of 1984 he was employed as a Senior Education Specialist at Boswell Regional Center at Magee, Mississippi. While serving as the Director of Interdisciplinary Programs Flavol left Boswell to become Program Director at Mill Creek of Magee, Inc. in Magee, Mississippi until 1991. In the fall of 1991, he established the
Pre-School Center for Jefferson Davis County School District and served as a pre-school special education teacher until 1996. Then Flavol opened the Jefferson Davis County School District Alternative Education Facility in Prentiss, Mississippi. In the fall of 1997, He became the Federal Programs Director for Jefferson Davis County School District until 1999 when he moved to the principalship of New Hebron Attendance Center, a school in the Lawrence County School District. In 2008 Flavol was appointed to the position of Special Education Director of the Lawrence County School District and in
2015 moved to the principalship of Monticello Elementary School.
Flavol retired from public school in 2018. Afterwards in 2020 Flavol was employed by Prentiss Christian School as the First Grade Teacher and Elementary Principal where he has served for five
years. He is currently the Principal of Prentiss Christian School.

On July 25, 1982, Flavol Rester married Kathy DeLancey of Prentiss, Mississippi. They have two sons and daughters-in-law: Reuben and Amanda Oakes Rester and their son Dean, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Jared and Nori Miyagawa Rester and their son
Jedidiah, of Tokyo, Japan.
Flavol Rester is the only remaining charter member of Bible Church, Silver Creek, Mississippi where he has been the pianist for 55+ years and currently serves as the pastor.
